Congratulation Sandburg,
This past Sunday (Jan. 25, 2015), Sandburg art students competed in the West Suburban Chicago Regional Scholastic Arts Awards and Exhibition at the Downers Grove North High School. They entered 69 individual works and 7 art portfolios to the regional competition which had over 2744 individual entries and 92 portfolios, for a total of 2836 works adjudicated.
Alex Baldivino, Alesia Karuntzos, Alyssa Mohn and Aida Rasmussen won Gold keys.
Bayan Gaghamin, Alex Huff, Alesia Karuntzos and Becca McWilliams won Silver Keys.
Haneen Abed, Annie Connolly, Alexis Good, Alex Huff, Rachel Komorowski, Carly Mathis, Alyssa Mohn, Aida Rasmussen and Maddy Wikstrom won Honorable Mentions in the categories of Drawing, Photography, Digital Art, and Painting.
The four Gold Key pieces will travel to New York City, next month, to compete nationally against all other gold key winners from throughout the United States.
The opening ceremonies for our Regional exhibition will be held on February 8, 2015 from 1:00-4:00PM at the Downers Grove North High School. The exhibition will run from February 8- 14, 2015.
