Scholastic Art Show:
90 years of Creativity
Feb. 08, - 14, 2016

Each year, the Alliance partners with more than 100 visual and literary-arts organizations across the country to bring the Awards to local communities. Teens in grades 7 through 12 apply in 28categories of art and writing. Submissions are juried by luminaries in the visual and literary arts, some of whom are past award recipients. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.

Last year, students submitted 255,000 works of art and writing to the Awards; more than 68,000 were recognized at the regional level and celebrated in local exhibitions and ceremonies. The top 2,000 works in the country earned National Medals and were celebrated at a ceremony at Carnegie Hall.

Art! from Sandburg A.P. Studio Art Students

Jan. 12 through Feb. 9, 2015

Reception:

Sunday, January 25th, 2014, from 1-3 p.m.

9602 W.Creek Road,Palos Park, Il

You are invited to visit the exhibit on display at the McCord Gallery & Cultural Center in Palos Park. Some of you know this as the "old white farmhouse, just north of Jewel."

The old white farmhouse is now a registered historic landmark and an art gallery/cultural center.

McCord also offers group classes and private lessons in visual art and music.

The work of our students in AP Studio Art is currently being displayed at McCord. Our opening reception is this Sunday, January 25th, from 1-3 pm.

This is unique and real-world experience for our students, who have not only created their own art, but prepared it for public viewing. They will be there on Sunday to answer any question you may have about their work and to learn what it is like to promote their own art.

Please feel free to join us this Sunday! Refreshments provided (the students are baking, as well.).

Thank You!
